About us

Builder is the AI-powered visual development platform that turns ideas into production-ready web and mobile experiences in seconds, not sprints. Cross-functional teams use Builder's visual canvas to generate, iterate, and ship experiences without the traditional bottlenecks of tickets, mockups, and coding handoffs. Everything integrates seamlessly with your existing tech stack, design system, and codebase. Whether you're an engineering leader eliminating dev delays, a design leader creating interactive prototypes with your design system, a product leader testing ideas faster, or a marketing leader launching campaigns without engineering dependencies - Builder accelerates every team.

Head of Product Marketing @ Builder.io

Almost every team hands off pixel-perfect Figma files to devs, who proceed to manually rebuild it all from scratch in code. Here's the problem: • 83% of designers report design-dev divergence at least sometimes. 26% say every project • 66% of teams waste 25–50% of their time on design-delivery inefficiencies • 63% say features slip because design-to-code bottlenecks • 73% say the process drops morale • 8 to 16 engineering hours are spent coding each Figma screen AI estimates that for just one pod of a designer and five engineers, that adds up to about $298,000 in lost productivity every year: the equivalent to having one well-paid designer on every pod doing nothing but fixing handoff problems all year. I distinctly remember when Zeplin came out; it was all about making that handoff easier. However, the fix isn't better handoffs. It's no handoffs at all. Credit to Shamsi Brinn for naming the methodology years ago that rests partially on the concept of the prototype as the living spec. What changed in 2024 is feasibility. AI-powered visual development (Cursor, Lovable, and our own Fusion) lets designers and developers iterate together in the same medium: code. Sources for the data above are in the blog I wrote about this. Link in comments.

  • B2B buyers now expect the same seamless, personalized experiences they get in B2C. But if your digital platform is still tied to a monolith, meeting those expectations is a constant battle. CEO @ Builder.io - visually code together

No handoff development is here. Designers, PMs, and developers are building in the same codebase. Customer feedback turns into pull requests. The win from AI is not a small speedup. It is a new way to work. I started as a product designer and learned fast that perfect designs never become perfect code. The fix was to contribute to the code. That turned me into a design engineer. Design engineers ship fast with high quality. They avoid process bloat that dilutes UX. AI makes this mindset available to everyone: → PM prototypes in the real repo with real components → Designer refines the flow in the same code → Developer adds logic and structure → No rebuild from Figma. One source of truth Result: speed up and quality up. Care from each step carries forward. This is how AI native teams already operate. Big teams can get there too. You do not need a special squad of unicorns. With AI, everyone gets baseline design and dev skills to explore, iterate, and unblock themselves. Taste and judgment still matter. What enables this: an AI IDE in the browser. Visual. Collaborative. No local setup. That is what we are building with Fusion. A fully capable AI IDE that anyone on the team can use to build and customize live repos. If you try Fusion, send feedback - will drop the link in the comments.
