About us
The passion project of multi-platinum, GRAMMY Award-winning artist Zac Brown, Camp Southern Ground’s mission is to provide extraordinary experiences for individuals to recognize and magnify the unique gifts within themselves and others to profoundly impact the world. During the summer months, Camp Southern Ground offers week-long residential camp sessions serving children ages 7 to 17, bringing together mainstream kids and those with learning and neurodevelopmental issues such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), while also including kids from military families. Much more than just a week away from home, summer camp is a chance for kids to grow, learn, and, ultimately, change the world for the better. Campers celebrate individual differences, connect with new friends, explore nature, and eat delicious, healthy food. For the rest of the year, Camp Southern Ground is dedicated to supporting veterans. Warrior Week, their signature workforce and wellness transition program, helps veterans find their new mission in life after military service. Warrior PATHH (Progressive Alternative Training for Healing Heroes), is the nation's first non-clinical program aimed to cultivate and facilitate post traumatic growth among combat veterans struggling with PTSD, depression, anxiety and/or combat stress. Both programs are provided at no cost to veterans. Camp Southern Ground is a 501c3 non-profit organization. - See more at: www.campsouthernground.org

This week at Camp Southern Ground's Warrior Week, our veterans had the opportunity to hear from an incredible Business Panel featuring: 👉 Wesley Grubbs, US Foods 👉 Stephen Rozzo, Builders FirstSource 👉 Dr. Patricia Ross, Ed.D. (Col USAF Retired), Commissioner, Georgia Department of Veterans Service Commissioner Ross shared a powerful reminder: “Attitude over aptitude. Skills can be taught, but showcasing your strengths and bringing a great attitude is key.” We are grateful to these leaders for their time and insight, and to our Warrior Week veterans for being such an engaged, motivated group. The future is bright! #WarriorWeek #Veterans #Transition

We loved having this awesome team at Camp Southern Ground! Thank you Student Veterans of America for rolling up your sleeves and making a difference 💛
As part of our Atlanta Regional Summit, SVA members took part in a meaningful service project at Camp Southern Ground, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting veterans and youth through programs that foster connection, healing, and purpose. We are incredibly proud of our student veterans who rolled up their sleeves, got their hands dirty, and gave back to a place that gives so much. We were honored to lend a hand and support their efforts in creating a space where healing and leadership thrive. Thank you to Camp Southern Ground for opening your doors and allowing us to be part of your mission. And thank you to every student veteran who showed up with heart and hustle. This is what leadership and service look like.

We are proud to partner with Generation WE, an organization dedicated to helping young people express themselves and feel seen through inclusive literature and creative workshops. Our partnership launched this summer with a hands-on storytelling session during #HeroDay with our Camp Corral campers. Using vinyl records as their canvas, kids explored their identities through art, creating powerful, personal pieces they took home as reminders that their voice matters. As Generation WE founder Annie Totten shared, “Partnering with Camp Southern Ground is the ideal way to deepen our impact. This is what belonging looks like.” Together, we’re creating space for every child to feel heard, valued, and connected. Nearly 500 attendees joined us on campus for the 3rd Annual Ruck & BBQ Bash! It was a powerful day of fitness, camaraderie, and community to support our nation’s veterans. Highlights of the day include: • A 5K ruck featuring obstacles like the “Camaraderie Carry,” an on-course challenge carried out every year, where the log must never touch the ground. • An amazing BBQ spread by Chef Robert Irvine and the Robert Irvine Foundation, served alongside great music and kid‑friendly activities. • A vibrant vendor village, hosted by emcee Jerry Payne of XTRA 1063 ATLANTA. Made possible by generous sponsorship from Sunbelt Rentals, Inc. (Premier Sponsor), Acuity and Coweta-Fayette EMC, all proceeds from this event will benefit Camp Southern Ground’s Warrior Programs, which are offered at no cost to veterans and their families. A heartfelt thank-you to all who rucked, cheered, and volunteered to support our veterans! Together, we’re lifting each other and making real impact. #RuckCSG #ToastandPostforFreedom

This past week our Founder, Zac Brown received The Warrior Alliance's 2025 Lifetime Impact Award for honoring and serving our nation’s veterans. Congratulations to GRAMMY-award winning artist Zac Brown as the recipient of The Warrior Alliance 2025 Lifetime Impact Award! A staunch supporter of America’s active duty service members and veterans, Zac believes it is our obligation to honor and care for the men and women who have protected our freedom and kept this country safe. With the belief that his musical talent was given for the purpose of putting more good into the world, Zac purchased 400 acres of farmland in Fayetteville, Georgia and built a world-class facility dedicated to serving youth and veterans called Camp Southern Ground. Thank you Zac for changing the lives of America's heroes so they can thrive after military service! #ZacBrown #HiddenWoundsofWar #PTSD #Veterans #BeWarriorCommited #VeteranImpactAwards
