“We’re incredibly proud to have had such a bright and motivated person like Aarav representing Connecticut,” CBIA Foundation director Dustin Nord says about Connecticut’s Civics Bee State champion—Fairfield’s Aarav Pradeep Sahu. Sahu competed in the 2025 National Civics Bee Championship in Washington, D.C. earlier this month. Connecticut's housing market remains one of the hottest in the country, with 4 of the top 20 hottest metros according to Realtor.com. The Hartford area leads the way at number 2, highlighting the strong demand for housing in the region. As we look ahead, housing remains a constraining factor on broader growth in the state as it limits the ability for faster workforce growth.

It’s the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation National Civics Bee Finals in Washington, DC today! We want to wish our Connecticut representative, Aarav Pradeep Sahu of Fairfield, the best of luck as he seeks to bring home the championship. Aarav had an impressive performance to earn his way to the final, and we couldn’t be prouder to have him represent our state!

In 2001, Connecticut was home to 3.2% of all insurance jobs in the US. In 2024, that figure has dropped to 2.2%. States in the Midwest like Nebraska and Iowa continue to eat into our market share as they leverage strong business environments and competitive costs to attract talent and capital. If we want to remain the "Insurance Capital of the World", we need policy that addresses costs and grows our workforce.
