#ICYMI: Last week, CBIA’s Energy & Environmental Council celebrated a transformative year for policy in Connecticut at our annual Holiday Happy Hour. Working alongside CT Department of Energy and Environmental Protection and Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development we: ✅ Ended the Transfer Act and passed new cleanup standards to boost economic development ✅ Advanced permitting reforms to streamline environmental permitting ✅ Supported legislation to address rising energy costs in our state. Great to see such a strong turnout from our members and partners as we celebrated this year’s achievements!

It was a privilege to talk to an incredible group of Hartford Public High School students today as part of ReadyCT’s career-readiness training day at CBIA’s office. The students, part of the school’s Allied Health and Engineering and Green Technology pathway programs, asked fantastic questions about CBIA, career goals, and preparing for their futures. They even pretended to enjoy my #dadjokes. It’s been a fun and informative two days getting the chance to connect and learn from some of the state’s leaders in pharma and biotech. CBIA’s Bioscience Growth Council was proud to support yesterday’s Life Sciences and Biotech Summit hosted by CBIZ. Today, I had the privilege of attending Yale Pitchfest—the semifinals for The Blavatnik Fund for Innovation at Yale. The Yale Ventures accelerator supported by the Blavatnik Family Foundation plays a critical role in advancing the commercialization of applied research and technology in the life sciences. Last night, I was honored by Connecticut Power and Energy Society with an “Outstanding Service” award for my work on their board of directors over the past six years. It’s been a great experience representing CBIA and serving alongside the industry’s finest to help educate Connecticut on all things energy.

Thrilled to announce HABCO Industries’s Brian Montanari as CBIA’s new chair of the board of directors! Brian’s passion for Connecticut and his experience leading a small business give him unique insights and a valuable perspective to help us strengthen our state as a place to live, work, and grow. We’re also excited to share that the board elected CBIZ’s Michael Brooder and Shipman & Goodwin LLP’s Leander A. Dolphin Dolphin as vice chairs.
