Welcome to the team, Roksolana Dumenko! 🌞
I’m grateful to share that I have joined the City of Boston as the Office of Human Resources Office Manager — a role that marks a meaningful new step after an unforgettable three-plus years. Since 2022, my life and career have been dedicated to supporting work in Ukraine. These last few years meant everything to me. I had the privilege of standing alongside resilient colleagues, supporting teams doing meaningful and important work, rebuilding systems, strengthening operations and HR processes, and contributing to efforts that mattered deeply to me both personally and professionally. It wasn’t just a job, it shaped who I am as a leader and as a person. 🇺🇦💛 Earlier this year, I was laid off — a moment that was difficult both professionally and emotionally. The months that followed were filled with searching, interviewing, reflecting, and reminding myself that transitions, though challenging, can also be grounding. And although some days the constant rejections were incredibly tough to absorb, I kept moving forward. I’m incredibly grateful for everyone who supported me, encouraged me, or simply checked in. Your kindness carried me. As I step into public service with the City of Boston, I’m bringing with me the lessons, resilience, and people-centered leadership shaped by my time in Ukraine. I’m excited to support the City’s workforce, strengthen operations, and contribute to a mission grounded in service and community. To my colleagues in Ukraine — thank you for trusting me, inspiring me, and letting me be a part of your work. It will always stay with me. Here’s to new beginnings, purpose-driven work, and carrying forward what matters most. 💙 #NewBeginnings #HumanResources #PublicService #Ukraine #CareerJourney #Gratitude

The 2025 E&I Academy Summit brought together 100 new E&I Ambassadors for a full day of grounding, learning, and community at the Boston Public Library. The E&I Academy began as a pilot in 2023, with the first Summit held in 2024, and it continues to grow each year. This year’s theme, “Sustaining Ourselves & Our Work,” guided participants through workshops on community care, neurodiversity, and systems-change, along with breakout sessions exploring healing circles, the seven types of rest, and just sustainability. The day also offered moments for connection and reflection — from movement breaks and a community altar to hands-on activities like cohort games and a lunchtime zine-making workshop. Participants also launched their Capstone Projects, which they will present in January 2026. With this year’s graduating class, the Academy now includes 217 Ambassadors across City departments — all committed to building a more equitable Boston.
