Following the resignation of Councilmember Osman Salahuddin – who has stepped away to focus on serving in the Washington State House of Representatives – City Council Position #1 is now vacant. The seat will be filled by an external candidate voted on by current Councilmembers, and that candidate will serve the remainder of Salahuddin’s elected term, which runs through 2027.
