Republic Capital Group, by acquiring an RIA M&A marketplace and lending their gravitas and curation, is scaling a bespoke process to allow more firms to get the benefit of expert advisory services (Connective is doing the same). I enjoyed speaking about this with Michael Reed and Sohail Jooma yesterday. Using tech to scale bespoke and human processes isn't a "cool choice" anymore. It's required to survive in all fields. In the midst of Connective's first in-person offsite, I am pleased to announce the acquisition of the investment practice of Water Street Advisors by Connective, our second transaction following our purchase of The Financial Gym in June of this year. Water Street and its founder and principal, Bill Ullman, bring highly complementary and valuable skills to Connective, with experience managing portfolios for higher net worth clients and more sophisticated portfolio management.  Bill will join the senior Connective Team as Managing Director. This acquisition aligns with our mission to provide financial coaching and advisory for all people, whether you just need to “get your finances in order,” or if you have significant assets to be invested. Or both.  Prior to building and managing Water Street Advisors, Bill is a long time Wall Street veteran, having held senior roles at Bear Stearns and Merrill Lynch among others. Bill currently sits on the Board of Directors of Van Eck Associates Corporation, an investment firm with more than $125 billion of assets under management.
