At the District of Columbia’s Department of Human Resources, we believe that people are the heart of public service. DCHR’s work goes beyond benefits and staffing; our commitment is focused on building careers that matter, nurturing talent that reflects the rich details of our city, and creating pathways for growth, belonging, and purpose Guided by the Office of the Director, our seven divisions work in harmony to ensure that every employee feels valued, supported, and empowered to make a difference. We strive to improve processes and programs for the betterment of District government employees, residents, applicants and other stakeholders. We work to ensure we retain a workforce that is comprised of individuals with integrity, character and dedication to Mayor Bowser’s vision for the District. DCHR’s is counseled from the Office of the Director which also oversees the Office of the General Counsel and the agency’s six other divisions: Administrative Services, Audit and Compliance, Policy and Staffing Services, Workforce Development, Benefits and Retirement, Compensation and Classification.
