Congratulations to the Project Genesis graduates! This summer, the DMC, Gilbert Family Foundation and Detroit Public Safety Foundation relaunched Project Genesis, a paid summer internship program designed to give Detroit high school students exposure to careers in healthcare and emergency services. With a generous investment from Gilbert Family Foundation, 25 high school juniors and seniors from Detroit high schools gained eight weeks of hands-on experience at Detroit Receiving, Harper, Hutzel and DMC clinics. The program concluded with student presentations. Since 2005, Project Genesis has been helping students unlock opportunities and build confidence to lead in professions that keep our communities healthy. Special thanks for Chief Todd Bettison, Detroit Police Department for speaking to the students, and the many program leaders and mentors for supporting the student’s career development. #BetterTogether #ProjectGenesis
