Humana’s Community Impact Program is expanding the ways we support communities near and far. Through our inaugural trip to the Dominican Republic, 30 Humana and CenterWell employees partnered with One World Surgery to deliver care and address health-related social needs in underserved communities. During their visit, the teams provided care at the One World Surgery facility, established pop-up clinics and brought care through home visits to individuals facing significant barriers to traditional healthcare. In total, 564 patients received primary care services in one week, including a record-breaking 233 patients in a single day. The team also worked on several community projects, including providing improved sanitation and restoring a playground for local children. We're proud to help make care more accessible and improve well-being for communities everywhere. Falls are one of the most common and preventable reasons older adults end up in the emergency room. Around 3 million seniors are treated for fall-related injuries each year(1), but with early intervention and the right support, many of these incidents can be avoided. We know that prevention is key—and that starts with understanding the root causes of balance issues. That's why programs like CenterWell Home Health® Safe Strides® are so important, combining clinical assessments with personalized care planning to help seniors stay steady and confident at home. Fall prevention isn’t just about reacting, it’s about anticipating, supporting and caring proactively. Reference 1. A recent Humana Healthcare Research survey provides important insights into how Medicare Advantage members perceive and value supplemental benefits, and why they matter. Nearly 6,000 beneficiaries enrolled in Humana Medicare Advantage plans participated in this survey designed to better understand how they view and use supplemental benefits. The survey included questions about longer-standing options like dental and vision care to expanded offerings like grocery assistance. The findings were noteworthy: • 94% agree supplemental benefits can improve health • 91% agree they can save individuals money • Non-use is most often due to lack of need—not barriers or lack of awareness • Opportunities exist to improve communication and usability With more than half of eligible Medicare beneficiaries enrolled in Medicare Advantage plans, the knowledge gained from this research plays a pivotal role in informing ongoing efforts to educate members about their supplemental benefits and improve engagement. Incredible progress underway with Epic as we advance digital tools that simplify care and improve the member experience. Together, we're building a more connected, efficient healthcare system for all.
Healthcare should be simple, connected and centered around people. That’s why I’m proud to share that we’ve activated the Coverage Finder and Digital Insurance Card Exchange capabilities on the Epic Payer Platform with many of our provider partners across the country. This means no paperwork, no physical card, and no clipboard when checking in at the doctor’s office. Humana’s Chris Walker and Epic’s Ryan Bohochik showcased these capabilities at the recent Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Connectathon in Washington, D.C., demonstrating how digital innovation can reduce administrative burden and improve the patient experience. These tools are more than tech. They’re a reflection of our commitment to interoperability and a modernized healthcare system. We’re encouraging more of our provider partners to enable these features and join us in building a more efficient, digital-first future for care. This is what progress looks like – fewer barriers, better outcomes, and a system that puts people first. Many Humana associates balance work with caring for a loved one. Our Caregivers Network Resource Group (NRG) is a space for them to come together to raise awareness and find mutual understanding. The NRG offers support groups, education and resources designed to help associates thrive in their caregiving role—while looking after their own needs, too. It’s part of Humana’s commitment to meeting people where they are and building a culture where everyone feels valued and supported, professionally and personally.

We believe that when people thrive, communities do too. That's why we're proud to champion programs that empower our team members to give back in meaningful ways. Through Humana Together, we amplify support for nonprofits, education, health and community development through matching donations and encouraging personal philanthropy. And each year, the Humana Foundation honors one outstanding team member with the Volunteer of the Year Award, celebrating their commitment to service with a $10,000 grant to the nonprofit of their choice. When we invest in each other, we all grow stronger.
