Great evening at the University of Arizona, Eller College of Management! Earlier this week, Imperative Logistics had the opportunity to connect with students from the Association for Supply Chain Management (ASCM) campus chapter to discuss the role of global freight forwarding as a key component of modern supply chain management. We did it! Both our Hood to Coast running team and our first-ever Portland to Coast walking team crossed the finish line in Seaside after two days of challenge, endurance, and teamwork. The greatest impact of the relay goes beyond the finish line, with proceeds supporting the life-saving work of Providence Cancer Institute. We pushed ourselves to the limit, but we did it for a cause that matters. "So many times during the relay, I was reminded of how the race, besides moments of athletic demands, is really a logistics challenge. It is a challenge of problem-solving, commitment, sorting things out, organizing, communicating when technology fails, and coming through for one another. It’s the stuff that makes Imperative who we are, no matter where you work or what you do. Or, I should say, it’s the stuff that makes up the people, who make Imperative what it is. The alarm clocks went off early for our Imperative Logistics Group teams this morning as we kicked off the Hood to Coast and Portland to Coast relays. Our running team is covering nearly 200 miles from Mt. Hood to Seaside, while our walking team takes on 130 miles from Portland to Seaside in its very first year. The fun started last night as we decorated our vans and got ready for the miles ahead. Now it is all about passing the baton, cheering each other on, and showing what teamwork looks like outside the office. These races bring together people from across all of our business segments and give us a chance to celebrate each other. We are proud to be part of an event that benefits Providence Cancer Institute, supporting research and care for families impacted by cancer.
