We just wrapped up our Industry Immersion Trip to Arizona, diving deep into the technology and challenges facing modern integrators. Our first visit was to Premier Ignition Integrator Vertech which also included an insightful presentation, and discussions focused on their industry, operational challenges, and the critical role of Ignition in their business. Thanks for a great morning of learning and the friendly networking at Topgolf! After that we visited three end users. The first customer we stopped at was Shamrock Foods Company, which demonstrated the massive scale and logistics of a major food service distributor. The next day, we went to a solar farm to explore Arizona Public Service - APS, where we gained valuable insight into the critical infrastructure and operational technology required to manage a modern, large-scale public utility. Last, we saw Lucid Motors, maker of the award-winning Lucid Air and new Lucid Gravity SUV at the first greenfield EV facility in North America, and a recent Inductive Automation Discover Gallery Winner. From SCADA systems to supply chain logistics, the lessons learned this week were huge. We are so thankful to the companies for hosting us and showing us the power of Ignition! He also integrates data from field devices to supervisory and IIoT levels, troubleshoots system issues, and collaborates with operational teams to ensure every solution runs smoothly and reliably. ● Why Inductive Automation Ignition Certification? Because his work is closely tied to SCADA development, earning Ignition certification was a logical move. It deepened his understanding of the platform and boosted his confidence in designing efficient data integrations aligned with industry best practices. ● Expectations vs Reality Husnun expected structured learning, but the certification proved to be more hands-on than he anticipated. Instead of testing memorized theory, the exam required him to solve real scenarios, identify problems, determine troubleshooting steps, and implement the correct solutions. This approach sharpened his critical and technical decision-making skills. ● Key Challenges Along the Way With nine sections of varying complexity, not all materials were familiar. Rather than speeding through the exam, Husnun took time to understand each concept through documentation and community references. As he shared, “It wasn’t about finishing fast, it was about truly understanding how to apply each solution.” ● Real Impact at Work The certification quickly proved its value when Husnun redesigned a SCADA interface that lacked structure and scalability. Applying Ignition’s best practices, such as template reuse, structured UDTs, and organized tag management, he transformed it into a cleaner, more scalable, and future-ready system.
