  • What makes a product impossible to ignore? Hear Kamran Ali, Partner at Inspired Capital, on how we think about investing and what led him to ShopMy.

Kamran Ali (Partner at Inspired Capital) is one of my favorite NYC VCs! I recently spoke to him about why he led ShopMy’s Series A, and his investment lens is pretty simple: 👉 Is this product a step-function improvement over the status quo? Most startups fail because they underestimate human inertia. If a product needs heavy explanation or incentives, habit usually wins. Kamran looks for products so superior that not switching feels irrational. That’s what he saw with ShopMy. Long before the data, there was organic pull, dermatologists were already using it without prompting. Over time, that early signal became a flywheel: creators pulled in brands, brands pulled in creators, and friction disappeared. The founder takeaway: know your secret. Step-function companies are built on a proprietary insight about why the old way is broken and when founders truly have it, their clarity is impossible to fake.

  • At Inspired Capital, we partner with fearless founders tackling some of the most complex and consequential challenges of our time. We’re hiring an investor to source exceptional early stage opportunities and drive thoughtful, rigorous diligence. You'll join a team that brings 70+ years of experience working together—grounded in a culture of deep conviction, relentless commitment, and differentiated thinking. On this episode of Inspired, Alexa von Tobel sits down with Mikey Shulman, founder of Suno, a company Inspired invested in a few years back. • Congrats to Daniel First and the Axion team on their $37M Series B led by Salesforce Ventures. Since co-leading Axion’s seed in 2022, we’ve watched the team build an AI-powered intelligence platform that is transforming how leading manufacturers ensure product quality. Axion helps companies like Medtronic, Cummins, and SharkNinja move from reactive to proactive quality by detecting early warning signals before issues impact customers. We’re proud to continue supporting Daniel and the Axion team as they build the operating layer for the next generation of manufacturing. We recently had Daniel on the Inspired podcast, where he shared his vision for Axion and the future of manufacturing. Listen to the full episode below. • The $300 billion performance marketing industry has a structural problem: advertising platforms are built for the platform's success, not yours. We're thrilled to share that we led Scowtt's $12M Series A alongside LiveRamp Ventures, Angeles Investors, and Angeles Ventures. Founded by Eduardo Indacochea (a veteran at building ad platforms at Meta, Google, and Microsoft), Scowtt uses predictive AI models to turn first-party CRM data into signals that dramatically improve advertising performance. In a post-cookie world where traditional targeting is breaking down, this represents a real shift in how performance marketing works. Excited to welcome Eduardo and the Scowtt team to the portfolio! • Congrats Supper on announcing a $11M seed round! Supper is building the agentic data platform that removes the agony of accessing company data. At fast-growing companies, teams burn hours every week wrangling data, rewriting SQL, chasing definitions, and stitching together numbers they don't even trust. With Supper, you ask a question and get an answer you can rely on. Decisions get made faster, and teams stay aligned. We're proud to support co-founders Lowell Putnam and Andrew Salamon as they transform how high-growth companies make decisions with data. Watch the video below to learn more about Supper.

Supper usage has more than doubled this fall across nearly every customer, and today, we’re excited to announce our $11 million seed round. When Andrew Salamon and I started Supper, we didn’t think it would be easy, but we also didn’t fully grasp just how much we were biting off. Building an AI-powered data agent that’s completely company- and database-agnostic is… well, incredibly hard. Seeing that written out, maybe we shouldn’t have been surprised? But many months later, our incredible team has built dozens of LLM pipelines, data integrations, code-writing agents, and a pretty wild amount of infrastructure. We’re now seeing the kind of traction we used to just hope for. Supper is consistently delivering those “oh wow, I didn’t know that about my business” moments that make all the complexity worth it. Thank you Rebecca Kaden, David Tisch, Lucy Deland, Jonathan Keidan, and Addie Lerner Katz for watching us evolve from a prompt bar that once struggled to answer “how many employees work here?” into a truly agentic platform capable of deep analysis, understanding custom company jargon, and making sense of even the thorniest databases. And because it finally feels like we know what we’re doing, we’re releasing a short video that explains how Supper works and why we built it (see below). Supper is designed for fast-growing companies that want to understand their data and make decisions quickly and accurately. Whether your data stack is sophisticated or still taking shape, get a demo from Andy and me to see how we can supercharge your decision-making: supper.co/get-a-demo We’ve onboarded teams that use Supper as their only data platform, and others with giant warehouses, multiple BI tools, and full data teams. The common thread: they all needed faster, reliable answers. And Supper is finally delivering that.
