About us
About LIA: London International Awards (LIA) is a Creative Awards Festival, established in 1986, by Barbara Levy, President. Barbara was the first woman to found and operate an International Awards Show honoring multiple media types. Jury: LIA invites industry leaders and trendsetters on both the creative and client side, assembling the most celebrated people in the industry for 10 days of judging in Las Vegas. To cut through the thousands of entries to get to the metal, you need the best jurors from diverse communities – not just meeting DEI&A standards but having true representation from across the regions, companies, networks, holding companies, independent companies to clients. No two jury members in each panel will be from the same company or network. It’s the world’s best work judged by the world’s best front-line practitioners with total objectivity. Jurors See Every Entry: The LIA judging process requires that jurors are on-site for all rounds of judging statue discussions. All members on our diverse global juries, judge all entries in their respective competitions, with the exception to work that they personally collaborated on or was entered from their company. There are no pre-judging panels to narrow the entries. This practice ensures that all jurors see every piece of work in their respective Categories. Our Jury Rooms are Open: LIA is the only global award show that allows the press, global excellence teams and young creatives full access into the jury rooms for observation during judging, including the statue discussions, allowing for full transparency.

Read about the impact Creative LIAisons had for 2025 LIAisons mentee, Siddhant Sawarkar and the key learnings he received from his coaches Sascha Kuntze, Anthony Chelvanathan and Lisa Fedyszyn!
A few days ago, I opened my inbox and found an email with my LIA - London International Awards certificate attached. That moment made everything feel real, the sessions, the mentors, and the lessons I am still unpacking. It also made me think about where growth really comes from. It reminded me of a scene from Avatar: The Last Airbender that I have always loved. Iroh tells Zuko, “It is important to draw wisdom from many different places. If you take it from only one place, it becomes rigid and stale. Understanding others, the other elements, and the other nations, will help you become whole.” That wisdom feels even more true to me now. The program connected me with three incredible mentors who generously shared their time, perspective, and honesty, each in their own way expanding how I see creativity. Sascha Kuntze encouraged me to push ideas beyond the expected and to focus on work that truly connects with people. He reminded us to care deeply, aim for cultural relevance, speak to a sharply defined audience, and trust that impact and bravery in the work matter more than awards. Anthony Chelvanathan emphasized that creativity is as much about execution as it is about ideas. He encouraged me to get involved early, treat clients as creative partners, obsess about craft, and design the conditions for great work, showing that discipline, curiosity, and focus are what turn ideas into impact. Lisa Fedyszyn taught me about the importance of knowing exactly who you are speaking to and rooting ideas in human truths. She showed how understanding cultural context, protecting the core of an idea, and stretching it creatively makes work memorable, relatable, and impactful. Each mentor offered a unique perspective, and together they created one of the most meaningful learning experiences I have had in my career. I am walking away inspired and grateful, carrying lessons I know will stay with me. Iroh’s words echo in my mind: drawing wisdom from many places is what helps us grow, not just as creatives, but as people.

On meeting Neil for the first time: "His first words to me were “Darling, thanks for throwing this party. I was trying to decide how and where to tell the Singapore Creative community that I am leaving the industry. As they are all here and you are paying for it, I have now solved the issue.” That was circa 1990. That’s how I met Neil French, on the terrace of the Raffles Hotel in Singapore where he was holding court at a presentation that LIA was hosting, no less."
