Miles for Military As a retired service member and proud parent of an active-duty son, this hits close to home. I recently discovered Miles for Military, and I wish this program had existed during my years of service—but I'm grateful it's here now and the 500,000 junior service members (E-1 to E4) serving today. Here's the reality: Our most junior troops have to pay for their own travel home. When you're making E-4 pay or below, a last-minute flight home can mean choosing between seeing family and paying bills. Miles for Military changes this equation. Eligible active-duty service members volunteer with local 501(c)(3) charities, and in return, they receive airline tickets to come home for holidays, family emergencies, and life's important moments. This organization addresses what every military family knows: staying connected to loved ones isn't a luxury—it's essential for morale, resilience, and force readiness.
