Welcome Brig. Gen. Mark Massaro! 👋 Last month, Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division hosted the (front center left) general and his leadership team from Eglin Air Force Base, Fla., for an immersion visit to our #NavyLab. This visit served as an important milestone in fostering and maintaining key partnerships with our friends across the region. Eglin AFB is responsible for the Gulf Test and Training Range, which covers approximately 120,000 square miles of overwater airspace in the eastern Gulf of America, extending from the Florida panhandle to the Keys. This vast area supports a wide range of military testing and training -- we often conduct testing in this environment. The conversations were beneficial as we learned more about the needs of one another to achieve overall mission success. We hope you enjoyed your time with us! 📸: Eddie Green #collaboration #partnerships #readiness

Happy 8️⃣0️⃣th Anniversary Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division! 🙌🎂🎉 This September 1st marked 80 years of our command’s existence! NSWC PCD's origins began in 1945 with mine countermeasures research conducted during World War II at the U.S. Naval Mine Warfare Test Station, Solomons, Maryland. Since then, this #NavyLab transitioned through several name changes, yet through it all, its mission grew to meet the increasing call for technical solutions made by our nation's warfighters. We are #PCDproud to be one of the major research, development, test and evaluation laboratories in the US Navy and boast a wide base of expertise in engineering and scientific disciplines within the littoral (coastal) battlespace! This only happens through the dedication of our workforce - past and present. We look forward to celebrating throughout this month together. Thank you for all your hard work and here's to 80 more! #NAVSEA #AmericasNavy250 #DominateTheLittorals Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) United States Department of Defense Naval Support Activity Panama City

Our mission continues to go places! ↗️ We are #PCDproud to have Landing Craft, Air Cushion (LCAC) 114, the latest Ship to Shore Connector (SSC) from Textron Systems onboard with us in Panama City, Fla. This particular mission carries valuable and impactful resources over land and sea with versatility and speed! Lots of great work being done here and LCAC is one of our most visible.
The U.S. Navy has accepted delivery of Landing Craft, Air Cushion (LCAC) 114, the latest Ship to Shore Connector (SSC) from Textron Systems, following successful Acceptance Trials. This next-generation air cushion vehicle enhances the Navy’s amphibious capabilities by providing rapid, over-the-beach transport of heavy payloads — ranging from 60 to 75 tons — including personnel, equipment, and weapon systems. Maintaining compatibility with legacy LCACs and existing well deck-equipped vessels, LCAC 114 marks a significant step forward in modernizing the Navy’s Fleet for operational demands. ⚓️ #USNavy #LCAC114 #ShipToShore #AmphibiousForce #ReadinessGeneration
