  • Teamwork is one of the News 6’s core values, and without it as our foundation, the rest would not succeed. Our team is enhanced by our interactions with each other, along with appreciation and gratitude. We’ll let Ginger explain it further and how the News 6 Ambassadors play a role in our team: “My time as an ambassador I hope to learn more about people I interact with every day. We are all busy but it’s important to make time to find out how people are really doing or feeling. I think it means a lot when a colleague puts a birthday card or even a get-well card on your desk. Ask about their kids, their pets or even their goals. It shows you care . If we can’t express that kind of simple kindness with people we spend 8 to 10 hours with each day, then how can we be expected to care about people we report on in our communities?” Ginger is the definition of a News 6 Ambassador - and we know you wished you had a co-worker like her. #News6 #Ambassador #CentralFlorida #LocalNews #Broadcasting #Teamwork #Values #Journalism

  • News 6 Ambassadors aim to make connections with our communities: from individuals looking for employment to businesses that support our local economy and our neighbors who play a role in helping Central Florida thrive. Each ambassador has a unique love of Central Florida and Kara’s is a sweet one. 🍨 Beyond enjoy ice cream, we asked Kara what she hoped to do in her second year as a News 6 Ambassador: “One thing I hope to accomplish in my time as an ambassador is to strengthen the connection between News 6 and our local community and show how News 6 is not just a source for news, but a true community partner.” Say hi to Kara the next time you see her whether it is at the station, on screen, or ordering at the counter. #News6 #Ambassador #Community #Connections #Teamwork Kelly's Homemade Ice Cream

  • As Central Florida students returned to school, we celebrated with our annual PB&J Day. Our News 6 team embraced their inner students by enjoying lunch together, creating personalized peanut butter sandwiches, and indulging in a variety of snacks—both the healthy ones we should have eaten as kids and the classic treats we traded for at the lunch table. What a great day to celebrate the start to another back-to-school season. And we hope all Central Florida students have a happy and successful school year. #Teamwork #CentralFloridaLife #BackToSchool #Summer #TeamLunch #WorkPerk

  • Chris is back for year two of the News 6 Ambassador program and we could not be happier. From projects inside the station or those that take us into the community, Chris always asks how he can help, and he is the first to volunteer, even if that means giving up his personal time ensuring that not only our business thrives but our communities do too. News 6 Ambassadors are great examples of Integrity, Teamwork, Innovation, and Passion in action. Chris fits the bill on all of these. • Are you interested in what’s happening in Osceola County? Here’s a look at your community correspondent, Laverne McGee.   Laverne is committed to getting Osceola residents the information they need. As a committed reporter, she takes people's specific concerns directly to community leaders to get answers. “I am honored to be able to develop strong relationships with residents and elected officials to get results for Osceola County,” commented Laverne. As both community advocate and a watchdog, she recently secured an exclusive interview with the new Osceola County Sheriff, Chris Blackmon, to discuss his plans for keeping the community safe. Knowing how to build strong relationships with residents and elected officials, allows Laverne to get results and highlight the positive aspects of the community, such as its booming growth. She advocates for local issues by asking specific questions to state leaders, including Governor Ron DeSantis and Attorney General James Uthmeier.   We asked Laverne to share something the average Central Floridian may not know about Osceola County. She told us about NeoCity. It is becoming a global player in semiconductor technology. Semiconductors are the crucial components in everything from our phones to our laptops. While many see Osceola County as a tourism hotspot, NeoCity is working to establish the area as a world-class tech hub, competing with places like Taiwan and Singapore. #News6 #GettingResults #CentralFlorida Osceola County Government, Osceola County School District, The Salvation Army of Orange and Osceola Counties, Osceola County Sheriff's Office - Sheriff Christopher A.
