New exciting employment opportunity – Division of Instructional and Information Technology Vacancy Details Position Type: Administrative and Central Office Office Title/Functional Title: Deployment Engineer QA-VoIP, DIIT – 25713 Civil Service Title: Certified IT Administrator (LAN/WAN) Level: L4 Division/Office: Division of Instructional and Information Technology Borough: Brooklyn Posting End Date: 01/09/2026 Salary: $132,195 - $136,353 Position Summary: The Deployment Engineer QA-VoIP is responsible for supporting the engineering and deployment of the New York City Public Schools (NYCPS) overall network infrastructure. This includes the planning, configuration, and engineering of School and Administrative site networks and support of integration and implementation services. The incumbent will support planning, coordination, and integration of new technologies in schools. The engineer will enable post deployment monitoring and transition to operational support services across the NYCPS’s 1,600 schools. The Deployment Engineer will lead the development of integration, implementation, and support documentation by working with constituents across DIIT Technology teams and field integrators to define and document deployment processes and will be responsible for providing highly technical expertise across a broad set of local and wide area network services technologies, as well as IP telephony and Voice Over IP (VOIP) telephony systems. This work applies to hardware, software, networks, collaboration systems, and network management systems. The engineer supports planning, design, configuration, installation, testing, troubleshooting, integration, security, performance, and documentation. This role ensures the reliable and efficient operation of voice communications, collaborating with other IT teams to integrate voice services with existing network infrastructure and applications.
