Preserving DUMBO’s historic character while investing in its future. NYC DOT, New York City Department of Environmental Preservation and New York City Department of Design and Construction completed a $108M project that restored 26 cobblestone streets, upgraded storm and sewer systems, and added new bike lanes and ADA compliant ramps. Thousands of cobblestones were removed, restored, and returned to their original locations based on community input. The new 2,500-square-yard Pearl Street Plaza features lighting, seating, planters, and a vibrant public space adjacent to the Manhattan Bridge.

Safer charging supports safer streets. We’re launching New York City’s first public e-bike battery swapping network, launching 25 certified charging sites that will reduce fire risks and support delivery workers. The new outdoor certified battery-swapping cabinets will provide a safe and convenient alternative to home charging. Each site uses high-quality, certified batteries that are regularly monitored and inspected.

One choice can change everything. You can’t rewind a crash. Small decisions you make behind the wheel can have life-changing consequences. Today, we launched Rewind, our newest Vision Zero campaign urging drivers to slow down, stop for red lights, and make safer choices on the road. Rewind will deliver critical safety messaging in 12 languages across TV, radio, digital media platforms, LinkNYC kiosk, gas stations, billboards, buses and bus shelters, and partnerships with New York sports teams. This campaign is part of our ongoing Vision Zero commitment to reduce traffic deaths through engineering, enforcement, and education
