We have a new name ☀️ After three years of building and contributing to Ethereum’s scaling stack with OP Labs PBC, Test in Prod is now Sunnyside Labs. In 2022, we were building Layer 1.5, an EF-funded project helping teams launch rollups to support enterprise adoption of L2. Then our friend Wanseob Lim gave us advice that changed everything: “Ethereum is not yet prepared for enterprise adoption. If you have the skills, contribute to the base layer first.” So we did. We shifted focus to strengthening the technical foundations — the OP Stack and Ethereum L1. Over the past three years, we’ve been fortunate to work alongside incredible people at OP Labs PBC and Ethereum Foundation, evolving from experiments to infrastructure. Ethereum has matured — it’s becoming the computing layer for global finance. Now, our focus is on Customizability and Privacy, the two keys to onboarding billions as institutions bring their specific needs to Ethereum. ⚙️ Customizability — Enterprises need custom features tailored to their business. Our goal is to make rollups configurable like Web2, reliable like Ethereum. 🔒 Privacy — The cryptography exists; the challenge is scalability and UX. Been digging through a16z's State of Crypto 2025 report this morning. A few things jumped out: >Stablecoins did $46 trillion in volume last year - approaching what the ACH network processes for the entire US banking system. Over 1% of all US dollars now exist as stablecoins. People are actually using them to move money, not just trade. >Traditional finance is in. Visa, BlackRock, JPMorgan, PayPal, Stripe all launching products. ETPs holding $175B. Circle went public. GENIUS Act passed with bipartisan support. Hard to call this experimental anymore. >Infrastructure got way better. Blockchains went from like 25 transactions/sec to 3,400+ now. Ethereum L2 costs dropped from $24 to under a penny. At OP Labs PBC, we're helping fintechs, payment companies and financial institutions do exactly this - use web3 infrastructure to build better products and ecosystems for their massive user bases (who don't even need to know they are using the blockchain), no matter how early they are in their web3 journey.
