This summer, nearly 50 high-performing Peetniks were nominated by their managers to participate in a leadership development program.  Through workshops on emotional intelligence, feedback, and employee motivation, these future leaders are gaining tools to better support their teams and strengthen our culture. ✈️ Peet’s Coffee x Southwest Airlines Takeoff Celebration ✈️ Yesterday, we celebrated a milestone that’s been months in the making: the official kickoff of Peet's Coffee onboard all Southwest Airlines flights, with inflight service beginning today, August 13. At Southwest Airlines HQ in Dallas, our teams came together for a vibrant gathering that brought together employees, leadership, media, and the spirit of hospitality that defines both brands. From commemorative toasts to a behind-the-scenes tour, the event was a true reflection of the partnership’s purpose: elevating everyday moments—on the ground and in the air. A standout moment came when Bob Jordan, CEO of Southwest Airlines, joined the celebration and shared heartfelt remarks: “We’re so grateful that you’ve decided to partner with Southwest Airlines. Our cultures are really similar—it’s all about change at Southwest right now, and Peet’s is part of that transformation. Here’s to two cultures that I think are very similar. Here’s to a long partnership. We love you guys. Cheers!” We also heard from Eric Lauterbach, CEO of Peet’s Coffee, who reflected on the brand’s journey from its founding in Berkeley in 1966 to this new chapter in the skies: “Peet’s has long been known for dark, flavorful coffee and a great coffee taste. We affectionately call our loyal customers ‘Peetniks.’ I don’t know that Mr. Peet would have envisioned coffee in the sky, but I think it’s going to be good for all of us. We’re really happy to be associated with Southwest Airlines. What happens when you mix coffee culture, creativity, and over 80 curious young minds? You get Peet’s 2025 Bring Your Kids to Work Day – Barista Day edition! Hosted last month by our incredible Marketing team led by Kristina Salcido Roach, this year’s event transformed our office into a Barista Summer Camp, complete with latte art demos, sensory tasting labs, scavenger hunts, and an outdoor bounce house. Hands-on Learning Kids explored the five basic tastes in our R&D Sensory Lab, learned about tea blending, and even tried their hand at latte art with real baristas. Creative Play From coffee-themed coloring pages to an onsite scavenger hunt, fun for all ages could be heard percolating in all corners of 1400 Park. Entertainment & Fun A magician, balloon animals, and a bounce house kept the energy high, while story time and a quiet space ensured everyone felt included. Memories Made Group photos, kid-sized aprons, and certificates made the day unforgettable for both children and parents. Meet Peet’s Coffee Summer 2025 Interns ! At Peet’s, we believe in nurturing talent and fostering a culture of continuous learning.
