We were honored to meet the legendary Dr. Nan-Yao Su at Corteva Agriscience’s 30 Years of Sentricon Celebration! Dr. Su, an entomologist at the University of Florida, is widely recognized as the founding father of modern termite-baiting systems. His groundbreaking research led to the creation of the Sentricon system — the first commercially successful termite bait introduced in 1995. Through his innovation, Dr. Su transformed the pest control industry by shifting termite management away from heavy chemical barriers to a smarter, environmentally conscious bait-based approach. By studying termite biology and behavior, he designed a system that targets entire colonies, not just individual termites. His work has been adopted worldwide and earned him a place in the Pest Management Industry Hall of Fame — a true pioneer whose impact continues to protect homes and structures across the globe.
