Beam Distilling Company’s 7th Generation Master Distiller, Frederick “Fred” Booker Noe III was named the 2025 Distinguished Rural Kentuckian at the Kentucky Electric Cooperative's 79th Annual Meeting in Louisville, Kentucky – the association's highest honor. The award recognizes exceptional individuals who have dedicated their lives to enhancing the quality of life in Kentucky. The son of the late Frederick “Booker” Noe and great-grandson of Jim Beam, Fred has been a lifelong advocate of the bourbon industry and has made significant contributions to Kentucky's economic development, including playing a key role in the establishment of Kentucky's acclaimed Bourbon Trail Tour. A faithful and pioneering steward of the James B. Beam Distilling Co.’s legacy spanning more than 200 years, Fred has also been instrumental in the release of innovative brands in the Jim Beam portfolio, including Jim Beam Devil’s Cut, Jim Beam Honey, Jim Beam Apple, Jim Beam Signature Craft 12-Year-Old and Jim Beam Single Barrel.   • At Suntory Global Spirits, we strive to optimize our operations to reduce water usage, replenish more than we consume and protect our natural resources for future generations. This commitment ensures we can continue to create the high-quality spirits our consumers love. Together with our Suntory Holdings Limited colleagues, we also collaborate with governments, NGOs, suppliers and industry peers on nature stewardship strategies to protect our water supply.  We are proud to have achieved a 53% reduction in our water usage rate, surpassing our 2030 target and saving nearly 5 billion liters of water annually. At Bowmore Distillery in Scotland, we've also improved closed-loop systems and heat recovery, saving an estimated 470 metric tons of CO2e each year and targeting a 70% reduction in water use annually. And, our Peatland Water Sanctuary program is restoring over 300 hectares of peatlands, with an investment of over $4 million made to restore 1,300 hectares by 2030.   • Water is one of our most precious ingredients and at the heart of our craft. Since the founding of Suntory Holdings Limited, we have prioritized honoring, protecting and conserving water as we inspire the brilliance of life, by creating rich experience for people, in harmony with nature. Our dedication is reflected in decades of water research and science and water stewardship goals across our group companies.    This World Water Week, we reflect on our progress at Suntory Global Spirits. In our direct operations, we’ve reduced our water usage rate by nearly 53% and replenished more than 15% of the water we use in our high-risk watersheds. We've also preserved nearly 7,000 hectares of forests through our Natural Water Sanctuary Initiative in Kentucky and our Peatland Water Sanctuary Initiative in Scotland has restored over 300 hectares of peatlands, building on our original efforts in Japan.

  • Earlier this month, our Suntory Oceania team debuted Suntory Bar, a three-month celebration of Japanese craftsmanship and culture in Prefecture 48 in Sydney, running until November 8.    Visitors can enjoy a bespoke menu featuring cocktails made from our expertly crafted spirits like Roku Gin, Hibiki, Jim Beam, Maker's Mark, -196 and more paired with signature snacks created by renowned Japanese chef Tetsuya Wakada.
