The Family Partnership, a legacy nonprofit serving families in Minneapolis since 1878, is seeking a transformational, deeply experienced early education leader to serve as Senior Director of Four Directions and Early Childhood. Our therapeutic, multicultural programming is unique, research-based, Parent Aware-approved, and built upon Empowering Generational Greatness (EGG) a nationally distributed executive-functioning, brain science curriculum developed, written, tested and brought to market by The Family Partnership. This is an important and dynamic time to join Four Directions and The Family Partnership. Located in the heart of the Lake Street neighborhood, The Family Partnership is both an anchor institution and a community promise of what’s possible when we support, nurture, heal, grow, engage, learn and achieve. While Four Directions serves all families in our therapeutic multicultural environment, a significant portion of our families identify as Indigenous. The position will report directly to a member of the Executive Team at The Family Partnership, with considerable access to its’ new President and CEO.

At The Family Partnership we invest in healthy families and vibrant communities so all people can thrive. This weekend, that meant hosting a Neighborhood Assistance Center to support people impacted by the recent rash of shootings in South Minneapolis. People received no cost wound care for by stander bullet grazing. Moms shared stories about the shift in their sense of safety and community. Blankets and hygiene kits went out the door and people seeking connection came in. There was community in these moments - and while community isn't the sole answer to solve the complicated, multi dimensional problems we are living and seeing on Lake Street and beyond, people and neighbors can't heal without it. Although programming like the Neighborhood Assistance Center "isn't what we do" at The Family Partnership - isn't this what we all need to do when the people and places around us are hurting? Show up, bring what you've got to help others and do what you can. For 147 years we've prided ourselves on responding in proactive ways to the dynamic needs of community and this past week was no different. Thank you to the City of Minneapolis for asking The Family Partnership to be the host site for the past four days, and to the many community resources who came in and helped community meet this moment.

We were proud to celebrate the 2025 Four Directions Preschool graduation this week! With songs, decorations, diplomas, new backpacks, books, and of course some cake, it was a joyful event honoring our preschoolers, their families, and their teachers. 🎓✨ We are especially proud to share that 100% of our 2025 preschool graduates are entering kindergarten ready—compared to Minnesota’s state average of 60% and 52% for children from low-income households. This achievement is a testament to the dedication of our teachers, the partnership of families, and the resilience of our children.
