  • Today, we completed the acquisition of Sanofi’s steriles manufacturing site in Ridgefield, New Jersey, welcoming a world-class team of the site’s more than 200 employees to Thermo Fisher Scientific. This milestone expands our long-standing partnership with Sanofi as, under the agreement, we will continue to manufacture a portfolio of their therapies at this state-of-the-art sterile fill/finish and packaging facility. We will also expand the Ridgefield site’s use to meet the growing demand from pharma and biotech customers for U.S. manufacturing capacity. “We are excited to add Sanofi’s Ridgefield site to our network and welcome more than 200 highly experienced colleagues to Thermo Fisher,” said Marc N. Casper, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Thermo Fisher. “Bringing this world-class facility and team into our network strengthens our U.S. manufacturing capabilities to better support pharmaceutical and biotech customers, while positioning us for future expansion."

  • Students like Akari gain confidence and find their voice by participating in STEM activities that can inspire them to become future innovators. Through our nearly decade-long partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs of America, we proudly support Akari and students like her across the U.S. Together, we can provide youth with high-quality STEM learning experiences that unlock their potential and pave the way for future success.

  • Take a look at 12 amazing images that show how innovations in spatial biology and advanced imaging help scientists see cells more clearly and enable discoveries that will shape the future of medicine, according to Thermo Fisher’s Trisha Dowling. Researchers can now see immune cells and tiny parts of cells as they attack and destroy cancer cells, Dowling shares. This insight helps them understand how certain cancer treatments work and leads to the discovery and development of new therapies. By combining these detailed images with studies of proteins and genes, healthcare providers can one day better predict and evaluate how patients will respond to specific treatments. • State and federal officials joined us for the opening of our new 375,000-square-foot manufacturing center of excellence in Mebane, North Carolina. The site was built in coordination with the federal government to strengthen U.S. supply chain resilience and support research and therapy development for decades to come. During the grand opening, attendees, including North Carolina Governor Joshua Stein, toured the new facility, which is designed for efficiency and with advanced automation. The site can produce 40 million pipette tips per week, ensuring a reliable supply of the tools used for experiments, running tests, and developing new medicines. In addition to this facility, we committed earlier this year to a $2 billion investment in U.S. manufacturing capabilities over the next four years. This includes $1.5 billion for expanding and enhancing manufacturing operations and $500 million for high-impact research and development, creating high-paying jobs, while adding lab services capability and supporting the domestic healthcare supply chain.

  • Our Orbitrap Astral Mass Spectrometer has been awarded the Royal Society of Chemistry's Analytical Science Horizon Prize, which celebrates discoveries and innovations that push the boundaries of science. The Orbitrap Astral “is the most significant technological advancement in mass analysers in two decades,” says Thermo Fisher’s Dr Hamish Stewart. “High sensitivity allows deep investigative studies of single cells that only a few years ago were considered impossible.” This, combined with other technologies, helps researchers to achieve a deeper understanding of disease at the molecular level, which has already led to important discoveries, including new potential treatments. Thank you to our incredible colleagues and partners for your dedication. Together, we are making scientific possibilities a reality.

Chairman, President and CEO, Thermo Fisher Scientific

Working together to advance healthcare Last week, I had the privilege of meeting U.S. health leaders: Jim O'Neill, Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS); Dr. Mehmet Oz, Administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS); and Marty Makary M.D., M.P.H., Commissioner of the FDA. Our discussions centered around America’s commitment to continuing to lead on science, maintaining America's innovation edge and accelerating new therapies for patients. Thermo Fisher Scientific is the leading partner to the life sciences industry, providing innovations and services used by pharma, biotech and government labs. As a major clinical research organization and a leading manufacturer of medicines, we are present at every step from an NIH-funded discovery through regulatory approvals to delivery to patients. Deputy Secretary O’Neill, Dr. Oz, Dr. Makary and I discussed innovative ways health agencies and pharma and biotech are using AI to be more efficient. We also discussed the importance of American innovation to our global competitiveness, as well as opportunities for Thermo Fisher to enable U.S. efforts to support patients and advance R&D. I appreciate their leadership and am excited to build a healthier future and further strengthen America's position as the global leader in life science and innovation.
