I recently received a notification from my Apple Watch that I closed my “Move” ring for the 1,000th time. After sharing a screenshot in my family group chat, my son-in-law wrote, “Wow, what’s your secret?” My son replied, “Her secret is never stop moving. You probably don't realize, but you’ve never actually seen her sit down in all the years you’ve known her.” For me, movement is a byproduct of having somewhere to be, both now and later. Why do I move? 1. I move because my family needs me. I’m a mother and a wife, and that keeps me on the move… 24/7. My daughter is expecting her first child next year and I can’t wait to run around with my grandchildren one day. 2. I move to stay strong and capable in my everyday life. I’m proud to say I can lift my overpacked carry-on suitcase into the overhead bin, and I want to be able to do so for as long as possible. 3. I move today because I want to be my best for as long as possible. I don't just want to add years to my life, I want to add life to my years. That’s why I move. I move because I love where I’m heading.
