On Sunday in Turin Italy, I had the honor of running with the Olympic Flame, a moment that is both deeply personal and profoundly symbolic. Born in Olympia and carried forward from ancient to modern Games, the Flame represents the light of spirit, knowledge, and life. It carries the stories of generations of athletes who have devoted themselves to excellence, resilience, and fair play, and it reminds us that the Olympic Movement is rooted in something timeless, human, and full of possibility. What makes the Torch Relay so powerful is the way it brings meaning to life in communities along the way. Athletes, organizers, partners, volunteers, and local communities each play a role in carrying the Flame forward, literally and figuratively, spreading a message of peace, unity, and hope as it moves from place to place. The Flame doesn’t just pass through a country; it brings people together; sparks joy and creates moments of shared magic that transcend borders and backgrounds. When those efforts align around shared values, the impact is real, and the world is better for it. I’m deeply grateful to Coca-Cola for their enduring stewardship of the Olympic Torch Relay and their decades-long commitment to keeping the spirit of the Games alive. Their partnership helps ensure that the passion of athletes and the promise of the Olympic Movement reach communities around the world, building momentum toward the moment when the Flame lights the cauldron and the Games begin.
