  • Bill Carleton, Upland's Vice President of Casualty Claims, was a featured speaker at the Trucking Insurance Defense Association (TIDA) 33rd Annual Seminar in San Antonio, Texas. Bill conducted a TIDA TALK discussing the topic "Building a Great Team of Claims Professionals and Defense Attorneys." The Trucking Industry Defense Association (TIDA) is a growing, highly dynamic organization of 1,500+ members throughout the United States and Canada committed to engaging in actions and activities that reduce loss costs to the trucking industry.

  • Upland’s Rich Smith, Senior Vice President and Chief Claims Officer, participated at the ClaimsXchange annual meeting in Philadelphia. Rich was a panelist covering the topic: "ONE LOVE- What the Insurance Industry is Doing and What They Can do Better to Compete in the Current Litigation Climate.” The panel, comprised of renowned Claims Leaders and Defense Counsel, discussed ways to establish unified defense strategies, improve case evaluations and more effectively respond to Plaintiff’s Attorney’s tactics using available resources, operational efficiencies, effective claims evaluation tools, risk predictors and practical approaches. The ClaimsXchange annual meeting brings together over 250 claims and legal professionals to explore the latest claims management topics and trends. Great job Rich!

  • Upland hosted a Phoenix Broker Event in a private “Owner’s Box” Suite at Chase Field. The suite provides a great view over home plate. 45 broker partners joined Upland leadership and underwriters for a great game as the Arizona Diamondbacks took on the Los Angeles Dodgers in a game that went extra innings with playoff implications.   • Upland celebrated this year’s WSIA Annual Marketplace with our extremely popular Tuesday night reception at the Provisional Kitchen in the Pendry Hotel, located in the historic Gaslamp District in San Diego. The event was a huge success topped off with espresso martinis and the unbelievable close-up magic of Danny Magic, a world-class magician from the exclusive Magic Castle in Los Angeles.
