Urban Peak was honored to welcome members of the Lakota and Navajo tribes at The Mothership to celebrate Native Heritage Month. Christina Conquering Bear presented Urban Peak CEO Christina Carlson with a handmade star quilt, a sign of profound love and respect in Native American culture, for her dedication to supporting youth experiencing homelessness. Additionally, dancers from Colorado and Oklahoma shared their tribes’ traditions through song and dance. National champion hoop dancer Elvira even graced us with her hoop-dancing skills! Later, everyone took part in a traditional Round Dance. Thank you to everyone who came for taking time to educate and celebrate Native American culture with our youth!
