Yesterday, Hillsborough County officially proclaimed January as Human Trafficking Awareness Month, underscoring our community’s commitment to raising awareness, strengthening prevention efforts, and supporting survivors. The proclamation was presented to State Attorney Suzy Lopez, and the Commission on Human Trafficking (COHT) Chair Connie Rose shared a semi-annual report highlighting the continued progress being made through education and collaboration. At Visit Tampa Bay, we believe awareness is a critical first step in creating a safer, more responsible destination for both residents and visitors. This month, and throughout the year, we stand alongside our community partners in shining a light on human trafficking and the importance of collective action. #UnlockTampaBay
