Last week, our nationwide listening tour concluded in Stockton, CA, and the conversations were powerful, candid, and sobering. In partnership with El Concilio California, UnidosUS (@WeAreUnidosUS) brought together community members, nonprofit leaders, and government officials to discuss the urgent economic challenges shaping their daily lives. Rising costs, immigration enforcement fears, limited employment opportunities, health coverage uncertainty, and more are forcing impossible choices for families and small businesses while straining local infrastructure. After similar sessions in Durham, NC, Nashville, Tampa, Kansas City, San Juan, TX, Rochester, NY, Philadelphia, and St. Paul, MN, one thing is clear—these interconnected challenges impact not just individual families, but the safety, stability, and well-being of entire communities.
