In partnership with the Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne, we have released Belonging Builds Community — a new report exploring how young emerging leaders in Allen County experience connection, belonging, and attachment to our region. Nearly 15 years after the original Soul of the Community study, this follow-up report offers new insights into what draws young people to Northeast Indiana, what encourages them to stay, and what challenges may cause them to leave. The findings highlight both our community’s strengths and the opportunities ahead — from economic security to civic engagement and social connection. When people feel connected to where they live, they’re more likely to invest their time, talents, and energy into building a stronger region.
