I'm tired of reading the same generic stories to my 5-month-old daughter, Brooke. So I created a custom AI agent that generates children's books about my family & with illustrations of my family. Here’s the flow I built in Zapier: 1. A custom form where I can submit our family’s names & ages, context about our lives, images of us, and the children’s book lesson I want this story to cover (i.e. hard work & resilience). 2. Form submissions prompt GPT and DALL-E to create the custom children’s book with story & 4-5 images. 3. Outputs are saved in Google Drive for me to review & have printed if I like them. 4. I asked ChatGPT what ads it might show me. Top result? OpenAI. That tells you two things 👇 First, OpenAI knows something. They wouldn't burn ad inventory on themselves unless the conversion data looked good. Their internal numbers are strong enough to justify buying their own traffic. (note: ads only show to free tier users right now. So ChatGPT will likely be pushing upgrades to Plus, Team, and Enterprise) Second, it means OpenAI is hand-picking early advertisers - they started with the one they can control the most. They're protecting the user experience because one bad ad could send people to Claude or Gemini permanently. The rest of my list? Notion, LinkedIn, Gartner, Amplitude. All high intent B2B. All brands OpenAI trusts to protect the experience. It’s not clear who they’ll take and who they’ll pass on. If you're in SaaS, get some budget allocated by EOW. Make your best bets given what you know about the way you operate and how ads will be rolled out. ChatGPT knows the exact problem at the exact moment - and can now show you whatever solution is paying them the most. OpenAI projects $1B this year, scaling to $25B by 2029 (for context, Google and Meta each do $50-74B per quarter…) Jury’s out on those numbers, but the opportunity is undeniable.
