IB Management Business Analyst:
GROUP DESCRIPTION: Jefferies’ Investment Banking Management team is involved in all functions of supporting the Global Head of Investment Banking and Capital Markets and the Global COO of Investment Banking and Capital Markets. The team manages all aspects of the largest division (by revenue) within Jefferies Group.
POSITION: TheIBManagement group is actively looking for an experienced Business Analyst in our New York City office. The role will require extensive interaction with all levels of Investment Banking and Jefferies Group, including senior firm leadership. As a Business Analyst on the IB Management team, you will gain exposure to all facets of investment banking, across all industry groups, products, and regions.
Responsibilities include:
Business analysis: Regular performance analysis of all subsectors, including ad hoc financial analysis. Projects include developing growth strategies, assessing and planning new market entries, strategic business deep dives and designing banking wide initiatives.
Budgeting Revenue and Compensation: Support the internal budgeting process and helping meet requirements of Jefferies senior management.
Compensation: Assist with bonus forecasting, year‑end compensation execution, and analysis of compensation trends to ensure alignment with market and internal frameworks.
Deliver timely, insight‑driven analytics across headcount, staffing, compensation, and organizational dynamics to support senior leadership decision‑making. Develop recommendations and scenario analyses to guide business planning and resourcing strategies.
Will work on cleansing data, turning models over, and reconciliations.
Manage ad hoc reporting requests from senior leadership, including financial, operational, headcount, and performance analytics.
Collaborate closely with Finance and HR to ensure seamless execution of business processes, governance requirements, and year‑end cycles.
Partner with IT to improve reporting infrastructure, enhance automated outputs, and refine internal data tools.
Other: Lead and support a wide range of mini‑projects across the IB division, including strategic, analytical, and administrative tasks. Step into high‑priority workflows as needed to support emerging business needs or time‑sensitive management requests.
Required Background/Skills
This role requires an analytical approach and strong attention to detail
Prior experience in finance/banking is preferred
Strong technical, written and verbal communication skills
Proven ability to multitask and manage a variety of projects simultaneously
Must have a confident and pro-active attitude
Motivated self-starter with strong work ethic and keen business acumen
Ability to multi-task and work independently
Must be willing to work late nights / weekends as needed
Minimum Requirements
Must have 1-2 years work experience in financial services industry
College degree in related field of study
100% of time / work is spent in Excel
Knowledge of Investment Banking products strongly preferred
