About the role

A mid-sized law firm with 20+ employees is seeking an Office Manager to oversee day-to-day administrative operations and support core HR functions. Key responsibilities

  • Oversee daily firm operations, including staff and office management, supplies, and facilities.
  • Coordinate with vendors, IT, and service providers to maintain smooth firm operation, office equipment, technology, and practice management systems.
  • Implement and maintain office procedures, ensuring consistency, organization, and compliance with firm policies and legal/ethical standards.
  • Help monitor billing- and payment-related administrative tasks (e.g., coordinating with bookkeeping/accounting, organizing billing information, and tracking expenses as needed).
  • Support basic HR administration: assist with recruiting/hiring, onboarding, personnel files, time-off tracking, and benefits and policy communication.
  • Provide administrative support to attorneys and staff as needed.
  • Serve as a central point of contact for internal and external communications, fostering a professional, positive office environment.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience as an office manager or senior administrative professional; law firm or professional services experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and follow-through skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a professional, client-focused demeanor.
  • Comfort with HR-related administrative work (onboarding, records, policy support, coordinating with external HR/payroll/benefits providers).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Outlook; experience with practice management systems is a plus.
  • High level of discretion and judgment when handling confidential information.

Work environment and benefits

  • Full-time, on-site position in a collaborative law firm environment with 20+ employees.
  • Opportunity to work closely with firm leadership, contribute to process improvements, and shape office culture.
  • Competitive compensation and benefits package commensurate with experience – health benefits (medical, dental, and vision), 401k retirement plan, paid time off (PTO) benefits, Flex time and holidays.
