IDN is a leading distributor of security hardware, access control systems, video surveillance equipment, doors & frames, locksmithing tools, and related security products.

Job Description

Based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the individual in this position is directly responsible for the development and performance of all outside sales activities pertaining to locksmith dealers and select commercial accounts in North Dakota, Minneapolis area, and Northern and Western Wisconsin. The individual is responsible for achieving maximum profitability and growth in line with company vision and values. This includes establishing plans and strategies to expand the customer base in the designated geographic area and to expand the volume of our commercial door operation.

Responsibilities Include The Following

• Develops a business plan and sales strategy that ensures attainment of company sales goals and profitability
• Directly responsible for all sales activities pertaining to locksmiths and related new account development in Western Wisconsin and Minnesota area (as an assigned Territory)
• Provides timely feedback to senior management regarding sales performance
• Ensures accurate records/reporting related to call scheduling, activity reporting, and contact management as related to the use of the company’s CRM software
• Controls expenses to meet budget guidelines
• Adheres to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team

• Demonstrates an ability to interact and cooperate with all company employees
• Works closely and cooperatively with Inside Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Accounting
• Demonstrates excellence in areas of personal character, commitment, organizational and selling skills, and work habits
• Meets or exceeds all activity standards for prospecting calls, appointments, presentations, proposals and closes
• Maintains contact with all employees at the IDN-Minneapolis branch
  
  

Requirements

• 3-10 years sales experience in a distribution environment
• Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements
• Strong computer skills
• Strong communication skills
• Strong product knowledge in the areas of mechanical door hardware, electronic access control systems, and/or doors and frames
• Willingness to travel and work throughout Wisconsin and Minnesota area
• Strong organizational skills with an ability to multi-task
• Cross-functional team player
