This role is designed for someone who wants to support student engagement and confidence in a learning environment—without the demands of curriculum design or grading.
Novatio School is built on an AI-enhanced academic model where core instruction happens in two concentrated morning hours. In the afternoon, students join live virtual workshops to collaborate, explore interests, and develop skills in real time.
You'll be responsible for maintaining momentum and managing the flow of each session. That means guiding students through transitions, facilitating small group dynamics, and stepping in with encouragement when motivation dips. You won't deliver lessons, but you'll be critical to the success of every workshop.

What You Will Be Doing
Facilitating smooth operation of live virtual workshops by coordinating breakout rooms, group rotations, and activity transitions
Encouraging student participation through direct messaging, recognition, and one-on-one engagement
Supporting students in staying focused, confident, and socially connected throughout their sessions
Providing operational support to lead educators to ensure sessions proceed without disruption
Serving as a positive, consistent presence across bilingual learning tracks and student clubs
What You Won’t Be Doing
Delivering academic instruction or teaching subject-area content
Developing lesson plans or assessing student work
Building curriculum or independently facilitating workshops
Observing passively—this role requires active involvement and visible energy
Virtual Learning Assistant Key Responsibilities
Facilitate dynamic virtual learning sessions by ensuring students remain engaged, organized, and motivated from start to finish.
Basic Requirements
Available to work 8am - 5pm Monday through Friday, US Mountain Time (UTC-7)
Minimum of 3 years of experience in mentoring, coaching, tutoring, or youth leadership roles
Educational experience within US, Canadian, or UK school systems (K-16) - must have been a student in one of these countries (current residence may be anywhere)
Excellent communication abilities and confidence using digital collaboration tools
Student-centered demeanor with strong attention to detail and seamless facilitation skills
Nice-to-have Requirements
Familiarity with virtual learning platforms or youth development programs
Experience in summer camps, after-school programming, or extracurricular leadership

Working with us
This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $20 USD/hour, which equates to $40,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
