Cate Lawrence’s Post

Its near the end of November which means another Slush is over. As an event, its a well oiled machine and an invaluble opportunity to catch in person with folks in my network as well as meet new people. Why do I attend Slush? One of the biggest things for me is that I get to catch up socially in person with people - I see my own team once or twice a year so hanging out with folks at conferences is always hugely valued. Secondly, I get so much buzz from people giving me updates about what happened after I wrote about their company. It's one of those invaluable ROIs that numbers of reads can never tell me. A huge shout out to Tom Wilson (Seedcamp) and Pepe Agell (Pear VC) for sharing the stage with me at Investor day. And I can't thank Nelli Sillanpää, the team and all the volunteers enough! Always a pleasure an a joy to catch up with people especially Fiona Alston, Anna Heim, Siôn Lawrence-Geschwindt, Reetta Ilo Gilbert, Harry Ashcroft, Jack Tunmore, Veronica Fresneau, Alasdair Lennon, Bill Cropper, Callum Burroughs, Jack Davies, Maximilian Schöffer, Robin Renz, Patrick Guiney, Evgeny Astapov, Katy Zack, and the folks at EWOR and Merantix AI Campus(and everyone else I forgot to mention - I blame the cans of gin and grapefruit! Argh, my liver, haha) It was also great fun to be a guest on two podcasts including one hosted by TRMNL4 with Sophia Nabil Gustafsson and one by the amazing Zivile (Zivi) Einikyte along with Andrii Degeler! And thanks to Bob W. for the hospitality! I can't wait to come back.
