One of my great privileges is that I get to be in rooms full of people passionate about their sport. Even better? When those people are passionate about the next generation too. This week I had the pleasure of spending time with a fascinating group of people from across the game of rugby union at the Rugby Tech Forum 2025 in Dublin hosted by the IRFU. Featuring a blend of people from tech, strategy, marketing and product from the unions of England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales, New Zealand, Australia and the USA, alongside some genuinely insightful guest speakers, we shared thoughts and debates on the the future of the game's offer for the next generation. We discussed some meaty topics, and we did lots of it under Chatham House rules - that means top secret for the uninitiated - and a little bit of it over some wonderful Guinness (of course). I even made time for a run to visit the hostel I stayed in for my stag do... just so I could take a selfie for my own whatsapp group, which is still called "The Dubliners".. (no more stories necessary). Thanks to everyone who attended and made time for a chat - among them Scott Walker OLY Richard Ayers Ewan Turney Jonathan Conn Louise Ford Leighton Griffiths Robert Fitzpatrick Keith Brock ... and many more who I'm looking forward to staying in touch with..
