The Tortora Brayda Institute (TBI) and the Skema Business School announce a new initiative to accelerate growth and success of AI startups

As part of our work into AI for Good, TBI were a founder member together with the UN-ITU of the international Innovation Factory competition showcasing excellence in AI startup companies in fields such as healthcare, the environment as well as social wellbeing.

Having listened carefully to the feedback from the participating entrepreneurs, a clear need was expressed that many are ideas and motivation rich but resource poor. This often hampers the pass to success and increases the chances of failure. At the same time, we have a growing need to forward the knowledge, understanding and use of good AI in educational institutions worldwide.

TBI therefore created several teams, under the umbrella of the AI Ethics and Sustainability task force, looking at different requirements of startups as they progress from pre-seed, seed stage, early stage, growth stage through to graduation.

One of these, U2I AI Hub, focusing on the seed and early stage of a startup, has inspired the development of an ecosystem comprising of a TBI Member’s Expert Board, Graduate student Business Schools as well as appropriate corporate sponsorship.

The first such pilot will take place, starting in September 2025, with the international renowned business school, Skema, at their Sophia Antipolis campus in the south of France.
