Hillwood Properties, BNSF Railway, and the City of Fort Worth have officially launched the Alliance Logistics District — a first-of-its-kind mobility logistics hub within the Smart Port at AllianceTexas. Approved by Fort Worth City Council on Nov. 11, the District enables next-generation freight movement, including autonomous and semi-autonomous vehicle operations, private hostler use without a CDL, and heavy-haul movements without special permits — delivering significant cost savings for co-located customers and reducing traffic on public roads. Hillwood’s $20M private heavy-haul bridge over FM–156 will directly connect more than 15M SF of industrial space to BNSF’s Alliance intermodal facility, unlocking the District's true value. Completion is slated for late 2026.
