Adios to DevLearn Conference & Expo 2025. It's been a whirlwind week. Lots of learning and insights of course, but at the heart of the DevLearn experience for me is the community. I have so much gratitude for all these amazing people. I've been coming to Guild events since 2007. Amazing people that I see at these events. We talk nerdy L&D stuff all week long, while also having fun together and building relationships with each other that extend beyond the work we do. It's a special kind of a relationship, right? When you work with people at a business, you get your work besties, for sure - but those relationships often peter out when people move on to the next org. You lose touch when the day to day is gone. So with a community like this, we keep coming back together. Love it. Grateful for the old friends and the new friendships formed this week. Thank you, fellow humans. We got this.

Thanks for sharing your takeaways Samantha Niepoth. I think #1 is particularly important to remember in today's AI-driven world
Just wrapped up my final session at DevLearn Conference & Expo! What an amazing time connecting with other L&D professionals and the vendors who are building the technology that is shaping the future of the industry. A few major takeaways I'll be bringing back: - AI is a tool, not a strategy. It works best when we pair it with thoughtful design and learner needs. - Flexibility is essential in today's learner experience. People need something that can adapt to their schedules, roles and goals. - The science of learning is real and more important than ever. Always look for ways to make content sticky and find the technology that can help with that. - We are the trusted learning professionals and will always have a seat at the table, invited or not. Organizations cannot function without a strong L&D department. - SME partnerships are key BUT we are responsible for educating SMEs on how to educate others. Know when to filter content and where to simplify information while maximizing the learners time. Finally, community still drives great learning. One-on-one or small group conversations with other professionals were essential to my success at this conference. Oh! And one last thing, not only were we able to walk away with new connections and ideas, we were able to explore all that Vegas has to offer! Including watching The Wizard of Oz at the Sphere Entertainment Co., seeing the iconic Bellagio fountain show, catching a Steve Aoki set, and my personal highlight, meeting the legendary Lisa Vanderpump!! 🤩 Thank you to everyone I was able to connect with, my coworker Alexandra Heaney for attending alongside, my team at H.W. Kaufman Group and all the speakers who provided the valuable content! Until next time!! #DevLearn #LearningandDevelopment #TeamKaufman

DevLearn Conference & Expo reposted this
Yesterday was my first day of DevLearn Conference & Expo 2025 here in Las Vegas, and it was all about Artificial Intelligence. The AI for Learning Summit felt like a mini-conference within the conference, with every workshop and session focused on AI in learning. We talked a lot about where everyone is on their AI-adoption journey. Some people are still experimenting individually. Others have already integrated AI at the company level. And a few have gone further — rethinking their internal processes and embedding automation or AI agents. The key takeaway of the day: start not with the question “What are we implementing?” but with “Why?” and “What problem are we solving?” Honestly, It’s the same logic we use in learning design and in product development in general — identify the business challenge first, then choose the right solution. The difference now is that AI gives us new ways to enhance existing learning processes and decisions. Thanks to Josh Cavalier and Megan Torrance for facilitating this day and asking wonderful and sometimes terrifying questions. And I was lucky to sat at the table with wonderful L&D folks, thanks for your ideas, thoughts and humour, of course. The final thought I’d like to share from yesterday’s presentation is “The purpose is people.” 🖤 #DevLearn #Conference
