This past month reminded me just how powerful community can be.
We kicked off August with our all-staff retreat, bringing together teammates from across the country. The most meaningful part? Simply connecting human to human, outside of our day-to-day roles. It was inspiring, grounding, and a reminder of why we do this work.
Later in the month, our Chicago team celebrated 10 years of mentorship at the White Sox stadium, marking a decade of impact in the Chicago region. It was a joyful day, with food, games, laughter, and even a Sox win—but more importantly, a chance to connect with the broader community that believes in and supports this mission.
Community is everything to us at iMentor. I’m lucky to work alongside some of the most talented, passionate, and unique people—staff, mentors, school and corporate partners—who are all helping close the opportunity gap so every student has the mentor they deserve.
