  • Healthcare and life sciences are at a clear inflection point: AI is moving out of pilots and into real clinical, scientific, and operational workflows. This week we met with leaders across the ecosystem at the J.P. Morgan Healthcare Conference to discuss the ways AI is delivering real impact. A few moments that stood out: • Brad Lightcap joined execs from Thermo Fisher Scientific, Schrödinger, Iambic Therapeutics, and Generate:Biomedicines to discuss how pairing models with deep domain expertise can create genuinely new knowledge across life sciences. • Nate Gross, MD joined execs from Amgen and University of California, San Francisco to discuss how the best organizations are redesigning workflows and systems to get the most out of AI, rather than just using it to accelerate existing ones. • Maggie Hott joined healthcare and life sciences leaders from Snowflake and our services partner Slalom to share real-world examples of how companies are embedding AI into workflows across their businesses. We’re excited to keep pushing this transformation forward with customers adopting ChatGPT Enterprise and OpenAI for Healthcare, and grateful to the customers, partners, and industry leaders who made the week so meaningful.

  • Today, we’re making GPT-5.2-Codex available in the Responses API. GPT-5.2-Codex - also available directly in Codex - is our most advanced agentic coding model, optimized for Codex-like environments. It excels at long-running background tasks like large refactors, code migrations, and feature builds. It’s also our strongest cybersecurity-capable coding model so far - helping teams find vulnerabilities, reason about exploits, and harden security systems at scale. • Merchandising decisions shape nearly every part of retail, but the work has become harder to manage as teams juggle more data, more channels, and faster timelines. We worked with Bain & Company on a new article that looks at how AI shifts the focus from analyzing decisions to improving execution. It explores how retailers are applying AI across category management, pricing, promotion, and inventory, while updating workflows and roles so teams can move faster with clearer judgment. • Datadog runs one of the world’s most widely-used observability platforms and they wanted to know: what if code review could prevent incidents, not just catch bugs? Datadog put Codex to work across every pull request and asked it to spot the system-level risks humans may have missed. They replayed real incidents against historical PRs. Codex flagged risk in more than 10 cases where senior engineers agreed it would have prevented an outage, outperforming every other tool they tested. Why it works: Codex doesn’t just look at the diff. It reasons over the entire system, surfacing cross-service coupling, hidden API changes, and downstream blast radius before code ever ships. The result is fewer incidents, higher confidence in releases, and engineers spending more time on architecture instead of hunting edge cases. Learn more at the link in the comments below.

  • We’re introducing OpenAI for Healthcare. It’s a set of secure AI products designed to help healthcare organizations deliver more consistent, high-quality care for patients - while supporting their HIPAA compliance requirements. OpenAI for Healthcare includes ChatGPT for Healthcare, newly available today as a secure workspace, and already rolling out at leading organizations like AdventHealth, Baylor Scott & White Health, Boston Children's Hospital, Cedars-Sinai, HCA Healthcare, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Stanford Medicine Children's Health, and University of California, San Francisco. It also includes the OpenAI API, which powers much of today’s healthcare ecosystem. Thousands of organizations have configured it to support HIPAA-compliant use - such as Abridge, Ambience Healthcare, and EliseAI. Learn more at the link in the comments below.

  • We just published an article with Bain & Company on how AI can help pharma break through its innovation bottleneck. The piece focuses on clinical development, where timelines are stretching, costs are rising, and complexity is slowing progress. It looks at how leading companies are moving beyond isolated pilots to more integrated, human-centric AI systems that improve coordination, speed, and decision quality across trials. • We’re hosting a live Codex onboarding session next Thursday at 11AM PST. It’s designed for engineering and technical teams who want to get started and start working with coding agents. We’ll walk through installation and environment setup, prompting patterns that lead to more consistent agent behavior, how to configure MCPs and integrate tools, share useful CLI and IDE workflows, and wrap up with a quick look at a few more advanced Codex use cases. AI tools on Canva have been used more than 24 billion times, empowering our community of 260 million monthly users with new ways to bring their ideas to life. Working with OpenAI, the GPT-5 suite has been foundational to embedding AI across Canva. With GPT-5 integrated alongside our Canva Design Model, Canva AI helps people generate content, convert designs, translate across 100+ languages, and create presentations and creative assets from a simple prompt. Our new app on ChatGPT now makes Canva even more accessible to customers across the globe, making it easy to create designs in ChatGPT and edit in Canva. This is just the beginning. We’re excited about what we’ll create together next with OpenAI in 2026!

  • We recently updated our guide on building with the GPT-5 model series. It outlines practical approaches teams are using to migrate to the Responses API, design and run agents, tune prompts, steer model behavior, and set up eval loops as they scale. The focus is on reliability, predictability, and using GPT-5.2’s controls effectively in production. Big thanks to Hillary Bush and Prashant M. who created it to serve as a practical reference for teams integrating GPT-5.2 into real workloads. Check it out below.
