From barge to quay — the Project ONE C3 splitter on the road 🏗️ The C3 splitter arrived at the site during the summer, as construction continued. In this short drone video, you can see how the 100-metre-high column was transported across the water and safely delivered to the quay. A fine example of engineering and logistics. When ethane is cracked, a mixture of different substances is produced, including the so-called C3 fraction. This contains a mix of propane and propylene, two very similar substances that each have their own applications. 💨 Steam power for Project ONE: from start-up to back-up The next in our short series showing the ongoing construction of Project ONE in the summer. 💪 Two impressive steam boilers, built in Venice and now installed in Antwerp, form the heart of Project ONE’s energy system. Together, they can deliver nearly 400 tons of steam per hour - essential during the start-up phase. Once the Project ONE cracker is running at full capacity, it takes over steam production itself. The construction of Project ONE continued in the summer, with a new look for the tank roof 🏗️ A total of 4,000 m³ of concrete now covers the roof of the Project ONE ethane tank. Due to its large size, this was done in two equal layers.
