To market and promote Hong Kong as a travel destination worldwide and to enhance visitors' experience once they arrive.
About us
The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) is a government-subvented body tasked to market and promote Hong Kong as a travel destination worldwide and to enhance visitors' experience once they arrive. The HKTB is headquartered in Hong Kong. Currently it has a worldwide network of 15 offices and has representatives in six different markets. The six objectives of the HKTB, as defined under the HKTB Ordinance, are to: 1) Endeavour to increase the contribution of tourism to Hong Kong; 2) Promote Hong Kong globally as a leading international city in Asia and a world-class tourist destination; 3) Promote the improvement of facilities for visitors; 4) Support the Government in promoting to the community the importance of tourism; 5) Support, as appropriate, the activities of persons providing services for visitors to Hong Kong; and 6) Make recommendations to and advise the Chief Executive (of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region) in relation to any measures which may be taken to further any of the foregoing matters. In 2008 the HKTB established Meetings & Exhibitions Hong Kong (MEHK) to continue strengthening Hong Kong’s position as the premier destination for Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions (MICE) in Asia Pacific. For MICE organisers, that means providing a host of service designed to make organising spectacular meetings or incentive travel programmes, a convention or an exhibition even simpler, smoother and more satisfying.

Following the visit of top-tier English team Manchester United FC in May, as well as heavyweight events including the “Hong Kong Football Festival” and “Saudi Super Cup” this summer, World Football Summit ⚽, an international sports convention, is taking place over two days (3 - 4 September) at AsiaWorld-Expo. The summit, staging in Hong Kong for the first time, was supported by the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB). Global football legends who participate in the Summit, including Rio Ferdinand, Fabio Capello and guests were invited by HKTB to explore Hong Kong tasting authentic local delicacies and checking out Hong Kong’s world-famous Harbour and city views at the Peak and on open-top sightseeing bus before the Summit. As Jan Alessie, Co-Founder of World Football Summit, added, “We believe Hong Kong can become a bridge between East and West for football, driving growth and unlocking new opportunities for the game across the region.” Mr. Anthony Lau, HKTB’s Executive Director, highlighted Hong Kong’s role as an ideal host city for both sports games and MICE events, noting HKTB's warm hospitality in thoughtfully arranging immersive tours for visiting football legends and Summit guests. By enriching the business travel experience, we continue to attract more high-yield, overnight MICE visitors, showcasing Hong Kong's unique blend of world-class events and vibrant cultural attractions. #DiscoverHongKong
