As climate impacts intensify—from rising heat and wildfires to floods and storms—vulnerable communities across the world are facing the consequences first. Building resilience is no longer optional; it’s essential. Today, Klarna is taking action by launching the AI for Climate Resilience Program — a global initiative empowering community-level innovators to harness AI as a force for good. This program is supported by a global network of expert organizations. From 24/7 disaster-readiness coaching for villages in Indonesia, to groundwater monitoring in West Africa, to nature-protection tools co-designed with Indigenous groups in Latin America — the first cohort of projects is turning technology into real-world impact. Each of these solutions aims to reach hundreds of thousands of people in regions highly exposed to climate shocks and transform early pilots into scalable systems adopted by governments and communities alike. We’re proud to support the first grantees — SEEDS, Acres of Ice, Geotek Water, Yayasan Saka Warga Indonesia, GainForest.Earth, and Self Employed Women's Association/International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI)/Gram Vaani.
