Building Uber's Newest Marketplace Would it surprise you to hear that Uber's newest bet has been more than a decade in the making? I'm delighted to share that what began as just a small group tasked with solving Uber's own AI challenges has grown into our latest global marketplace for powering enterprise-grade applications. Working alongside several customers across industries (Gen AI, AV, large tech companies, startups and more) with unique AI use cases we've now built a system that connects knowledge workers around the world with the online gigs and tasks that power AI. We're proud to be working with Klarna to enable a new card powered by Visa Flexible Credential (VFC) that brings flexible payment options directly to the cardholder. With VFC, we’re enabling Klarna customers to pay now or pay later — all on the same card. This isn’t just a feature upgrade. We'll learn a lot more about today's outages over the next couple of days as we start to get post mortems from the different platforms that were impacted. But it was interesting to see that traffic on our PNIs to GCP were not impacted uniformly with big traffic drops in LAX, ORD, SEA, SJC and DFW, but increases in traffic in FRA and AMS as customer services failed over. This highlights the important of proper DR planning with a minimum of multi-region and ideally multi-cloud.
