  • Every child deserves safety, care, and a chance to dream. In our Mission Education centre in Roing, Arunachal Pradesh, children rescued from difficult situations find a place to heal, learn, and regain confidence. With counselling, affection, and simple joys like dancing and playing, they begin to experience childhood as it should be. Many come here scared, but leave with hope, knowing they are seen, heard, and supported. And for us, and the team caring for them, watching these children grow becomes the most meaningful reward. • A single portrait can open a doorway between two childhoods Through Smile Foundation’s collaboration with The Memory Project, children from our communities connect with young artists in the United States through a simple exchange of portraits. Founded by Ben Schumaker, The Memory Project uses art to help young people reach across borders and share kindness in a personal way. When a child receives a portrait created just for them, placing their hand on the artist’s traced outline creates a moment of connection between two young lives. This exchange gives children a new way to see themselves and offers artists a window into another world. On #InternationalVolunteerDay, this collaboration celebrates how meaningful connections can begin with something as simple as a portrait shared with care. • 'Namaste' to the little ones we met in their school deep inside the Garbhanga Forest Reserve, Assam. These children come from one of the remotest villages in the region, where access to basic healthcare is often a long journey away. Today, children and families across 14 villages and urban underserved communities in Guwahati are receiving free healthcare at their doorstep. Through the Smile on Wheels mobile hospital project, supported by KONE, we are working to reach over 15,000 individuals every year with preventive, promotive and curative services. The mobile hospital travels to communities across Garbhanga, Pamohi, Lalungaon, Beherbari, Lalmati, Basistha, Borpothar, Bhaskar Nagar, Shiva Nagar, Bishnupur, Bapuji Nagar, Paltan Bazar, Kamarkuchi and Tepesia - places where most families work as daily wagers and farmers, often putting their health needs aside to make ends meet. We are grateful to KONE for standing with these communities and helping us bring essential healthcare closer to those who need it most. Smile Foundation recently hosted ‘WE 2.0,’ a celebration of teamwork, strategy, talent and the cultural heartbeat that unites us. It was a festival of gratitude, of learning from each other, and of honouring every contribution that keeps our shared mission alive. It reminded us why perseverance matters: because when we support one another, every dream - young or old - has the space to grow into empowerment. We are the Togetherness. Leadership isn’t about the titles we carry or the slogans we repeat. It’s about living the values we claim. Teams feel authenticity instantly. Wearing labels is easy. Living them is the work. Respect isn’t what you say it’s what you’re willing to be changed by. So, here’s the real leadership lesson: Don’t perform change. Let change shape you. WE learn. WE engage. WE align. WE deliver. We drive quality. We create impact. We lead better, together.
