Armando Leal Puente is the co-founder and CEO of Eutechtics, an early-stage start-up that develops sustainable chemical innovation to reduce emissions from the atmosphere by using a new generation of green solvents. One of their unique solutions is EvoCarbon, a new way to produce added-value chemicals by using carbon dioxide captured from air as feedstock. Armando is a Climate Reality Leader and has received training from Al Gore, and is a former Global Shaper at the World Economic Forum, where he led the Manchester Hub as a Curator. In the past few years, he has been selected as a Regional Talent by the Royal Academy of Engineering, an OYW ambassador and UNLEASH Plus talent.

Under Armando’s leadership, Eutechtics developed EvoCarbon, an innovative process that uses air-captured CO₂ to produce carboxylic acids, aligning cutting-edge science with climate action. Armando holds a BEng in Industrial Engineering from the Autonomous University of Nuevo Leon (UANL) and a Master’s in Sustainability and Environmental Management from the University of York. His career spans over nine years across Mexico, Germany, and the UK, where he has led environmental and quality management initiatives in both public and private sectors. Eutechtics has earned widespread recognition, including selection for the Royal Society of Chemistry’s Change Maker Program, finalist status in the Emerging Technology – Energy Category, and multiple startup awards. In 2024, it was named Green Startup of the Year and Innovative Startup of the Year, and received the prestigious Innovate UK Smart Grant, placing among the top 3% of applicants. With £400k recently raised in investment and grants, Armando is now leading the company toward commercial-scale production of benzoic acid, targeting a £4M/year market and a licensing expansion strategy.
